| "At the beginning of the Year 2009, at the WO's and Sgt's Mess in Ottawa, Wayne Chernow, Roy Blair, Theresa Charlton and Pierre Léonard were discussing the possibility of having a Tel Tech reunion. Following that, Pierre Léonard conducted a survey amongst the Teletype and Cypher technician community to see if there would be interest in having a reunion sometimes in 2009. The original survey email was sent on the 20th of January, 2009. If the response to the survey was positive, a reunion would be organized by individuals that volunteered their time as per their response to the survey. During the first committee meeting that took place on the 25th of March 2009 and after reviewing the results of the survey, the committee members all agreed that there would be a reunion in 2009.
